If you get the golden ring you earn a free ride. You have to reach quite far and it’s probably best for ages 6+, in my experience. We had a 5 yo and a 7 yo and the 5 yo missed the majority of the rings but did get 2-3.

Menu items are all great, so it's tough to choose. I opted for the Portuguese haddock & my w8fe got the fish & chips, both were excellent & cooked perfectly. While not cheap, the portions are large & considering where you are....worth it. My only nit pick (& we come here often) is we always seem to get the one server who isn't having their best day, nothing rude of course, just not overly engaging & friendly.

My husband and I love going to Ocean House for date night - so to change it up a bit we decided to go to their sister property Weekapaug Inn. I was extremely disappointed in the ambiance of the lobby lounge / bar room. It felt like the furniture was so random - a love seat couch that looked like it belonged in an office, paired with different size chairs that had charm, but random. The space was so bright and wasn’t giving off romantic Friday date night vibes. I was also disappointed in the quality of the bar set up - did not meet the quality caliber of Ocean House bar. For a smaller space, they could make that area so cozy and charming, but it’s totally missing its mark. They could really use an interior decorating Improvement, since the outside is so beautiful. (Note - I don’t know what their rooms look like, this is just the bar/lobby lounge area). Service was good.

We LOVED our stay at Shelter Harbor Inn. The inn itself is quaint, cozy and charming. The beds were comfortable and the room was a good size for a weekend stay. It’s in a lovely neighborhood that is great for walks and less than 10 minutes to beaches and downtown. Highly recommend.
