Shimungwe lodge  

An intimate 4-star, all-inclusive safari lodge tucked on a curve of the seasonal Timbavati River in Thornybush Game Reserve, part of the Greater Kruger area. You're about 11 minutes by car from Mafunyani Cultural Village, roughly 29 km from Kruger National Park and 9.4 km from Ehlanzeni College.

Once a private residence, Shimungwe now offers just four tastefully appointed suites for an exclusive, family-friendly escape. Traditional thatch roofing, towering trees and African-inspired décor set a tranquil tone. Suites are air-conditioned and private, many with direct game-viewing vantage points and a deck overlooking a waterhole.

All-inclusive stays include guided morning and evening game drives, superb Big Five viewing and birding.
