Herdade de Vale Côvo  

Set inside the Guadiana Valley Natural Park in Alentejo, south Portugal, Herdade de Vale Côvo sits between Mértola and Serpa on a 184-hectare agro-tourism estate. The restored hunting house is about 10 km from Mértola and surrounded by Mediterranean forest and aromatic-plant fields.

A 1940s hunting house turned boutique farm stay with traditional architecture and modern comforts. There are five twin rooms with private bathrooms and central heating, plus a covered patio and a 60 m2 pool with panoramic views of the Guadiana Valley. Guests can visit the plantation of lavender, rosemary and geranium and tour the on-site distillery that produces 100% natural essential oils from organic agriculture.
