Tucked into a peaceful riverside valley on the slopes of Leomil Mountain, just outside Leomil in Moimenta da Beira. This cluster of restored watermills sits beside a stream and gardens, with easy access to walks and the sweeping landscapes of the Douro region.

Seven former mills have been converted into individually decorated rooms and a self-contained apartment, blending traditional stonework and a recovered mill with modern comforts. Expect private bathrooms, some mountain or garden views, central heating and TVs. Owners invite guests to use cozy living and dining areas — relax by a log fire on cool nights or unwind in the shady pergola.

Swim in an ecological pool fed from the millstream and filtered naturally by aquatic plants for a true back-to-nature experience. Gardens, an outdoor pool, picnic and barbecue areas, rustic pergola seating and communal lounge with fireplace add to the slow-rhythm vibe. Activities include riverside walks and donkey-riding by request; tours to nearby monuments and Roman roads can be arranged.
