On the sunny outskirts of Oudtshoorn, a pet-friendly hostel/backpackers base a short drive from C.P. Nel Museum and Oudtshoorn Golf Course. The Cango Caves and Oudtshoorn Suspension Bridge are within easy reach, and the town basks in roughly 333 days of sunshine a year.

Lodge 96 offers six guestrooms plus small dorms (only eight people) — immaculate double en-suite rooms and dorm beds with private bathrooms. Rooms come with electric kettles, portable fans, safes and daily housekeeping. The vibe is relaxed and social, with a terrace and garden that open onto an outdoor pool.

Take a dip in the outdoor pool, lounge on the terrace or fire up the barbecue in the picnic area. There’s complimentary Wi‑Fi, a TV in a common area, free on-site self-parking, laundry and luggage storage. Tour/ticket assistance, concierge services and an optional roundtrip airport shuttle (surcharge) make planning local adventures easy.

Continental breakfast is served daily from 8–9 AM for a fee. The property also has an on-site restaurant plus barbecue and picnic facilities to fuel days out exploring vineyards, ostrich farms and nearby mountain passes.
