Quatermain's 1920's Safari Camp  

In the wild Eastern Cape bush near Paterson, set inside the Amakhala Game Reserve. Close to Shamwari, Lalibela Game Reserve and Bushman Sands Golf Club, this tented safari camp puts you in true Big 5 country.

An intimate, 1920s‑style tented safari camp with six guestrooms and private furnished patios. Rooms include en-suite showers and hair dryers. The vibe is boutique and back-to-basics, led by hands-on hosts and qualified rangers for a personal bush experience.

Two four-hour game activities run daily — morning and afternoon drives with knowledgeable guides. You can swap a drive for a guided Wilderness Walk at no extra cost (advance booking required). Guests staying 3+ nights can join the Overnight Trail and Cave Stay across five biomes for a night in an equipped cave. Wake up to bush sounds and wide African skies. Note: certain walks and overnight activities are for over-16s only.

On-site restaurant serves hearty South African bush cuisine and camp-style fare. Trail and cave nights include tasty bush meals prepared for guests as they relax overlooking the valley.
