In a peaceful residential suburb of Pietermaritzburg, about 3–4 km from the city centre. Close to the National Botanical Gardens, Macrorie House Museum, The Old Prison and the Gandhi statue. Caribe Caribe Lodge is spread across three guesthouse-style properties for a relaxed, local stay.

Rooms have private entrances and open onto garden lounging areas. In-room perks include tea and coffee making facilities plus TV options (DSTV or DVD/satellite). Breakfast is served on a restaurant deck and the multilingual staff speak English and Spanish.
