Set in a 400-year-old red‑brick, half‑timbered house with 59 charming rooms — no two are the same. Most rooms in the main building look out to the pedestrian street or the cathedral. The annexe, Vagthuset (1840), offers 11 modernized rooms (six refreshed in 2015 and five in 2020). Period character meets modern basics like flat‑screen TVs, desks, complimentary toiletries and hairdryers.

Two on-site restaurants, a bar/lounge, terrace and a ballroom set the scene. Complimentary wireless internet, tour/ticket assistance, wedding services, luggage storage, newspapers and a vending machine are all on offer. Self-parking and a local shuttle are available for a charge. Playrooms for kids make it easy to enjoy a family-friendly stay.

Restaurant Dagmar serves Scandinavian cuisine and is open for evening dining from 18:00–21:00. For a more relaxed meal try Restaurant Vægterkælderen. Buffet breakfasts are offered for a fee and room service is available during limited hours. Wind down with a drink at the bar/lounge.
