Awaroa Lodge  

On Awaroa Bay, deep inside Abel Tasman National Park — a remote, water-access only lodge minutes from the Abel Tasman Coastal Track. You must book a sea shuttle, water taxi, plane or helicopter transfer in advance. Close to Totaranui Beach and Tata Beach, this family-friendly wilderness escape is all about shoreline, native forest and golden sand.

The lodge has 26 rooms: standard, superior and family suites with ensuites, bar fridges, and tea/coffee facilities. Many rooms open to private patios with wetlands or native-forest views. This is a TV-free, low-phone-coverage spot designed to help you unplug. Inside, find a cozy library with a fireplace, an organic garden and a full-service spa.
