This family-run hotel began life as a 15th‑century coaching inn, with antique pine and dark oak furnishings, patterned wallpaper and carpets. There are 40 individually decorated guestrooms—some with more contemporary decor—and private bathrooms with shower/tub combinations. Request a ground-floor room if you need one; there is no lift. The property has a colourful past, once owned by drummer Keith Moon and frequented by local celebs.
