Canyon Roadhouse  

On the road to Fish River Canyon in Namibia, tucked along the C37. Situated about 14 km from the gate to the canyon viewing points, Canyon Roadhouse is a family-friendly base for exploring the gorge with easy on-site parking and a petrol station.

A cult roadside lodge that celebrates the golden age of motoring. Interiors are decorated with old car parts and coachwork, with a theme restaurant and the Wheels bar. There are 24 immaculate, air-conditioned en-suite rooms with mosquito nets, private patios, tea/coffee facilities and daily housekeeping. The on-site Canyon Information Centre explains the geology, flora, fauna and local history.

Large outdoor swimming pool and sun‑deck tucked among indigenous aloes, with sun loungers for lazy afternoons. Bar, restaurant and an on-site petrol station keep things practical and social. Playroom for kids, free self-parking, Wi‑Fi/internet access, laundry and dry-cleaning, ATM, ironing and safe-deposit boxes. Sundowner drives, unguided sunset walks and horse-riding can be arranged to chase the perfect canyon light.

The theme restaurant serves a complimentary English buffet breakfast each morning (typically 7:00–9:00), set-menu lunches and à la carte dinners. Wheels bar is the place for a drink and the lodge is famed for its Amarula cheesecake—perfect after a day at the canyon.
