Damsang Guest House  

In the hill town of Pedong, between St. George Higher Secondary School and Cross Hill at about 1,240 m — an eco-tourism guest house roughly 19 km from the city center. A handy base to reach Lava, Lolay Gaon, Rishap, Echay Bustey and Rishi Khola, and to acclimatise before trips to Zuluk, Nathula, Jalepla and Tshangu Lake.

Family-run since 2003 with eight rooms and a cosy, homely vibe. Small in-house garden and a quiet, non-traffic road make for peaceful morning and evening walks. The premises include the Maya Museum, a small collection of local cultural items and old currencies to help you connect with the region. Rooms vary by category and commonly feature a shower, TV and slippers.

On-site restaurant, parking and car rental available; staff speak English and German. Eco-tourism focus with garden-grown produce and easy access to nearby trails — wake up to misty mountain mornings and short strolls right outside the door.
