Ten independently designed Kyoto machiya make up the property — each one styled differently for a boutique stay. Push through the heavy gate to find ancient plants, a 150‑plus‑year sotetsu palm set in stone, and a vermilion salon with a new library. Rooms are air‑conditioned and come with kitchenettes and city or garden views — perfect for a slow morning coffee.

Garden views, a bar and on‑site restaurant set the scene. Guests can relax in the salon-library, enjoy a complimentary self-serve breakfast, and use the guest laundry. TVs, complimentary bottled water and housekeeping on request keep things easy.
