Yosemite Bug Rustic Mountain Resort  

Perched on a forested mountainside under a grove of oaks, about 26 miles downstream from Yosemite Valley and in Midpines (roughly 4 km from town center). This mountain lodge keeps an authentic scout-camp character with a social, back-to-nature vibe. Family-friendly and backpacker-friendly — pets are not permitted.

Restored sugar-pine cabins from a historic scout camp sit alongside stilted hillside cabins and well‑appointed tent cabins. Rooms blend vintage and modern furnishings; private rooms, family cabins and Hostelling-aligned dorms each have their own style. Parking is available but may be a short walk, and vehicle access has required reservations during peak season.

On-site highlights include the June Bug Cafe, a social Yosemite Health Spa with herbal soaks, an H2O2 hot tub and a hot-rocks sauna, plus a massage room and weekend yoga. Outdoor options: ping-pong, picnic and BBQ areas, and playrooms for kids. Laundry and an on-property ATM make stays easier.

The June Bug Cafe serves sustainable, local, fresh dishes with a daily-changing menu and excellent vegan and vegetarian options alongside meats and seafood. There's also an on-site bar and restaurant for relaxed meals after a day in the park.
