This malaria-free, private safari lodge is an easy escape from Johannesburg — under three hours by road or about an hour by flight. Expect Big 5 game drives and raw bushland scenery.

A five-star private safari property rebuilt in 2015, its interiors mix chic African touches with contemporary European design. Six guestrooms offer private patios, free minibar items, espresso makers, safes and bathrooms with deep soaking tubs plus separate showers. This is an all-inclusive lodge so meals and many beverages are included with most rates.
