The Coach House

In the heart of the Lake District in Windermere, a former Victorian coach house sits a short walk from the town centre and the shores of Lake Windermere. Nearby highlights include Windermere Jetty Museum of Boats, Steam and Stories, the Old Laundry Theatre and Bowness Pier. The property is about a 10–15 minute walk from Windermere train station.

Built as a coach house in the 1890s, the hotel mixes period character with modern touches. Rooms are en suite and include TV and tea/coffee facilities; some rooms show off cast-iron beds and antique furniture. Three of four rooms were renovated in 2020. The property has elevator access for guests with disabilities and a quiet policy (10:00 p.m.–8:00 a.m.) plus a curfew (midnight–6:30 a.m.) to protect restful nights.

Free off‑road parking is provided for most rooms. Enjoy excellent Wi‑Fi throughout the property and continental breakfast delivered to your room each morning between 08:00 and 09:00; packed breakfasts are available for early departures.
